We knew Trump wasn't going to get complete immunity...even from this Supreme Court. But we should have known that this court would figure out a way to lessen (perhaps even greatly lessen) his accountability.
It appears the court is going to settle on an 'official acts' guideline. One where a president can't be held accountable for his official actions (as described by the constitution one would hope) while in office. This assuming he did not commit a crime during his official action(s).
So now we just need to wait a few years for the court system to figure out what the official actions are. And hope that when those are defined, years from now, that those official actions don't include the acts of inciting an insurrection or plotting to overthrow a duly elected government of the United States.
With this SC, anything is possible. Oh, BTW….Trump just got his delay past the election for most of the charges brought against him. That’s pretty much the first step of what he wants.
